World-class Education

High levels of private sector investment and strong international ties have boosted Turkey’s education system into the ranks of OECD counterparts over the years on the back of government policies and strong collaborations with renowned international institutions. Turkey boasts the second-largest higher education market in Europe after Russia with over seven million enrollments. Around 150,000 foreign students are currently enrolled within the Turkish higher education system, up from just 10,000 15 years ago. Turkey also boasts the highest share among OECD countries of short-cycle programmes with many universities expanding the number of high quality two-year programmes to meet high volumes of career-oriented demand. STEM programmes such as engineering rank high in these programmes to meet Turkish industry’s technology needs.
