Holders of Turkish Citizenship by Investment enjoy significant advantages through Turkey’s Customs Union with the European Union’s 27 member states. Although Turkey is not an EU member, its Customs Union, established in July 1996, creates a close economic link with the EU. Turkey is the EU’s fifth-largest trading partner, while the EU accounts for 40% of Turkey’s global trade. This Customs Union facilitates seamless trade for certain goods by eliminating tariffs and quantitative restrictions on industrial products and processed agricultural goods between the EU and Turkey.
