EU Customs Union Perk

Turkish Citizenship by Investment holders benefit from preferential tariffs and free circulation of certain goods through Turkey’s customs union with the European Union’s 27 member states. While Turkey is not a member of the EU, it has a close relationship with the bloc through the customs union which came into force in July 1996. Turkey is EU’s fifth largest trading partner while EU is Turkey’s largest market with a 40 percent share in global Turkish trade. The customs union provides frictionless trade for certain goods by removing tariffs and quantitative restrictions in bilateral trade between EU member states and Turkey for trade in industrial products including processed agricultural products. However it does not include non-processed agricultural products, coal and steel products, public procurement and services.
